Amedeo Modigliani was an Italian painter and sculptor who spent most of his working life in Paris. Known for his distinctive style of elongated faces and figures, he created some of the most hauntingly beautiful portraits of the early 20th century. His work bridges the gap between Post-Impressionism and Expressionism, and despite dying at just 35, he left an indelible mark on modern art.
