Edward Burne-Jones was a British artist and designer closely associated with the second phase of the Pre-Raphaelite movement. His large-scale paintings of mythological and Arthurian subjects inhabit a dreamlike world of elongated figures, jewel-like color, and melancholy beauty. A key figure in the Aesthetic movement, he also designed stained glass, tapestries, and mosaics for William Morris's firm.
